9/26/2008

Well as I start another day at the studio, I am reminded how lucky I am to love what I do. So many people in the world are waking up and going to a job they hate to support a family they dearly love. Me on the other hand, I wake up happy, energized and ready to go to work. The best part of the whole thing is when I come home, I am just as happy as when I left in the morning. I still remember coming home from my previous job and sometimes bringing the stress home with me. Not only was it tough on myself, but it often rubbed off on my family. Being it is a Friday, I need to get caught up on some editing, and most of you are ready for the weekend, so I will end this one short. May your weekend be filled with fun, and if travel is required may all your travels be safe.

New Friends

One thing I have never noticed until a couple days ago is how much I follow the people I photograph. (Not in a serial killer, or stalker way) The other day I was at a football game and one of the gentlemen that I photographed for senior pictures was playing. The game became more interesting for me just because of that person playing. It is a new friendship that was created just by taking their photographs. I now find myself reading the paper and checking in on how the local teams are doing and how the persons that I have taken photos for are doing in their school, sports, or everyday life. I can only imaging how teachers feel. I only get to spend 3 hours at max with each of these fine young adults and watching them succeed is very uplifting for me. This past year I have met some very interesting people. From future farmers and ranchers, to future politicians, and doctors. These young adults are setting themselves up for great futures. Now when they are billionaires, and Google puts up an ad asking who this person is with a guess you win a free laptop, I can say hey, I took that photo. Thanks for tuning into my blog, and stay tuned for other blogs.

Just The Beginning

Well I have been in my new studio at 17 2nd Ave West for about a month now, and business has nearly doubled. I am truly amazed at how many people care enough to just stop by and check out the space. After renovating the month of August with help from my parents, I finally feel like my dream is a reality.
This is my first blog, and I hope to update this page on a continual basis, as a way for you to get to know me, and see how I am feeling from day to day. I may talk about recent shoots, or I may drag on about how I did not get any sleep last night because our little guy (Ty) is teething. I hope many of you will come back regularly to check the latest and greatest from Weiler Photography. For all of you who have had your photos taken with me, let me send out a sincere "Thank You" without you, I would not be where I am today. I hope to photograph each and every one of you again in the future.
